Which foods bad for you?



In today's society,  no matter how healthy we tried to eat, there are days when we eat huge amounts of food, including the so- called fattening foods like fried chicken, french fries, pork, doughnuts, pizzas, cookies, cakes, sugary drinks and much more. These foods are linked to serious health problems ranging from obesity to diabetes. Therefore, if you want to loose weight and eat healthy it is best for you to avoid these foods. 
In this blog, I will share with you 4 popular foods you should avoid. 



                                             Worst Food 1: French Fries


 Potatoes are known for health foods, but frying potatoes in deep oil can make them extremely high in fat and calories. French fries are easy to eat in a large amount and you can easily gain weight. This may lead to several health conditions. According to research french fries also contain a lot of salt and acrylamide, carcinogenic substances that form when potatoes are fried. Did you know french fries are high in carbohydrates and saturated and trans fat?  If you consume carbohydrates regularly it can lead to obesity. Obesity leads to health problems like high blood pressure, saturated and trans fat. This can increase the level of cholesterol and other related diseases of the heart that can lead to heart attack and many more serious diseases.
Studies have shown: One large order (6 ounces) of fast food french fries contains roughly 570 calories, half of which are from fat ( That's why we cannot resist fries!)  

Healthier substitutes for french fries: Instead of a large french fries order kids size instead which have only 230 calories. 
You can substitute french fries for a salad. 


                                                              

                     Worst Food 2 : Fried Chicken 

 

 

 

Many times, I have witness individuals who reach the counter to place their order for fried chicken always says " I doh wa no scrawny or little piece ah chicken eh, I wa d big piece!"  





Did you know eating an excessive amount of fried chicken is like drinking oil straight from the bottle?   Fried chicken is very high in fat and calories.This increases your low-density or bad cholesterol. Fried foods can clog your arteries which can lead to stroke or heart attack. 

Research has shown : A fried chicken breast has nearly 400 calories and 22 grams of fat. 
Healthier substitutes for fried chicken: Grill chicken instead of fried chicken.



                   Worst Food 3 : White Bread  

 White bread is made from white flour and it contains little very nutrition and dietary fiber.  Eating white flour makes you fat, it can also be addicting and clogs up your digestive system, slowing down your metabolism.
Studies have shown: A slice of white bread offers little or more than 65 calories of white flour,  a simply digested carbohydrate that causes your blood sugar to rise and crash. Since white bread has so few nutrients, it leaves you feeling hungry for the fiber and vitamins your body needs. 
Healthier substitutes for white bread: You can eat whole wheat bread because it is healthy and is full of nutrients like magnesium and potassium. Also, you can eat whole grain bagels and much more.





                                       Worst Food 4: Pork 



Just think about it! Pigs are dirty animals they eat anything in its path including its own feces.  Pork is highly toxic which contains diseases and virus. The human body goes into toxic shock by consuming pork and pork is never fully digested by the human body. 
I find this chart is very helpful to understand the health risks your body may encounter by eating pork.
  




The reason I choose these four foods because many individuals are living a fast pace lifestyle.
These foods are convenient to eat in your busy day.  Please take note that these simple foods are full of harmful effects which cause weight problem, diabetes and high cholesterol.
Please reduce your intake of fried and fatty foods. Eat more bake, steam, grill, and barbeque more than fried foods.

Here are some tips for your intake while preparing your own food.

 Eat Less Salt

• Reduce the amount of salt used in food.
• Use fresh seasoning herbs instead of instant or bottled seasonings.
• Reduce your intake of high salt foods, e.g. cheese, sausages, tinned meats, tinned fish and thinned vegetables.

Eat Less Sugar
• Reduce your intake of sugar in beverages.
• Avoid the habit of using sweets and sugary snacks on a regular basis.
